This is my mom’s recipe, every time she makes this curry when we don’t want to eat lentils. In India, this curry is known as “lobia masala” in northern India or “Chawli” in some states.

I always prefer to soak beans before using it in my recipes, it’s just better for digestion. I soaked black eyed peas for 2 to 3 hours before using in the recipe. If you don’t have time, you make them directly or also you can make this in instant pot.
