To make this protein-packed snack recipe all you need is simple 6 ingredients, which is all time easily available in your pantry. Preparation of oven roasting chickpeas starts with cooked chickpeas. I went for homemade cooked chickpeas because nothing is better than fresh. But you can go for canned chickpeas if you prefer, they are easily available across the stores.
For Oven Roasted Chickpeas firstly soak them overnight in water, boil them till they get soften, drain all the water. Now spread the chickpea on a baking sheet and put them in the oven for approx. 10-15 minutes or roll them gently between a pair of clean dishtowels. In fact, the less moist chickpeas are, crispier they will become.
After drying out add little oil (if oil-free, you’ll omit this step) and all the spices along with salt (you can add any seasoning of your choice). Do not over season them, too much seasoning can make the chickpeas moist.
Bake the chickpeas at 400 °F (200 °C) for 45-50 minutes (depends on your oven). Moreover, in too high temperature, chickpeas tends to get burns quickly and may taste smoky. In fact, if the temperature is too low it takes a very long time for them to get crispy.
