Vegan Spinach Crepes (Spinach Cheela)

Today I am sharing with you a complete guide on how to make Healthy, GF, and Vegan Spinach Crepes (Spinach Cheela). You must have heard about sweet crepes but how about savory crepes? Have you ever given a try to them?

How to make Spinach Crepes?

Make sure the spinach is fresh and crisp, just wash the leaves and finely chop them and they are ready to be used. Take a mixing bowl to add chickpea flour along with all the spices, mix everything well. Then add water little at a time to form a batter. Add spinach mix well and set aside for 5 minutes. Pour the batter on to a good non-stick pan and cook from both the side and spinach crepes are ready to serve.

Ingredients:-

 1 cup Chickpea Flour/ Gram Flour/ Besan
 1 ½ cups Finely Chopped Fresh Spinach
 ½ tsp Carom Seeds
 ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
 ¼ tsp Turmeric
 ½ tsp Salt or as per taste
 1 cup Water or as required
 3 tsp Oil or as required

Directions:-

Take chickpea flour in a big mixing bowl, add all the dry spices and mix well.

Now add water little at a time to make a smooth lump-free batter. ¾ or 1 cup of water is used to make the batter at pourable consistency (consistency should be like dosa batter).

Now add ginger, carom seeds and spinach. Mix all the ingredients really well and set aside for 5 minutes.

Now, the batter is ready, make sure that the batter is not too thick or too thin in consistency.

Heat a tawa/pan and drizzle some oil on it. Spread the oil evenly with a napkin paper and keep them on medium heat. Tawa/pan should not be too hot while spreading the batter.

Pour 1 tbsp. of batter and spread it making a thin layer.

Once the Crepes turns golden brown from beneath, flip its sides and let it cook from another side as well. Cook the crepes until brown spots appear on both sides.
NOTE: If desired then drizzle some oil on top and spread it evenly or you can avoid using oil at all.

Serve immediately. Clean the pan/ tawa with napkin paper to make other crepes and likewise make the rest of the crepes as well.

Serve these nutritious spinach crepes along with yogurt, coriander & mint dip, ketchup or serve with any filling. Enjoy!
